You may have heard about being positive.
But how can you do it if your life has been tossed upside down.
The good news is you can turn things around, even when the storm rages around you. You can be the eye of the storm, and not let the winds take you away.
How? First, you only have control over yourself, your thoughts, your emotions, and your environment. If you are experiencing a traumatic time, you will need to practice a mindset shift to pull you out of fight, flight, fear, and anger.
First, change your environment. This may be as simple as going outdoors,
taking a walk, or finding a peaceful place to chill.
Second, shift your focus
Meditation may be next to impossible if you are new at it,
but it's really just imagination and mind drifting.
Kids are great at it. You do the same thing when you are driving a car, watching a show, or are ready to fall asleep. It's daydreaming with focus on an idea.
Third, Imagine
Use your imagination to put yourself in the perfect place, free of distractions.
Imagine you are in the woods, on a beach, or in a comfortable setting.
See yourself safe in this place. Use all your senses to feel it.
Next Act as if
See and imagine yourself as who you want to become. Do you want to be self-assured, confident, joyful?
You can visualize all these qualities and act as if you already have them.
Imagination of this type will help your blood pressure to lower,
and your irritation level to drop.
Continue to practice mastering your mindset.
Breathe
Breath is another powerful tool. When you breathe slowly and deeply, your parasympathetic nervous system takes a break.
Slow breathing shifts you out of your worried mindset and into peace.
Movement practices
Try Yoga and tai chi. Each one enhances both the body and the mind.

So true. When I was stressed I'd take a walk near the beach and feel better after the walk.
